Creative Woodturning

Author: Dale Nish

Creative Woodturning was written in 1975 by Dale Nish, one of the foremost woodturning masters. Nish's book starts you out at the beginning by describing what tools and materials you will need to start woodturning. Although this book seems to be orientated towards beginners, woodturning veterans can certainly pick up some good ideas. The final section of Creative Woodturning is a showcase of some of Dale Nish's woodturnings, and the work of other woodturners. Many of the items shown in this area, and how to make them are discussed in the book.

Creative Woodturning is full of detailed pictures showing each step of each of the topics discussed. Some of those topics are: how to turn a bead, how to finish a bowl, faceplate turning, spindle turning, tool sharpening, and many others. Nish shows you the fundamental techniques of woodturning, and then teaches you projects in which you can utilize those techniques. Creative Woodturning is a book that deserves to be a part of every woodturners library.
